Low dose aspirin appears to significantly inhibit the COX enzyme in skeletal muscle and significantly reduce production of PGE2.

Comment: The effect of chronically reduced PGE2 in skeletal muscle is not well known but possibly beneficial in maintaining muscle mass into old age. More studies are needed.
