This literature review looks at the evidence for face mask use by the general public, and concludes that the evidence for widespread use is strong with very little evidence of negative side-effects.

Comment: Highly recommended reading. This lays out convincing arguments for the use of face masks for the purpose of decreasing transmission of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Other diseases exist, however, such as COPD and asthma which may be negatively affected by masks. When will the recommendation for universal masking ever end?
