This analysis concluded that for women aged 50 invited for breast cancer screening with mammography, the reduction in breast cancer mortality was 20%. Researchers estimated that for every death prevented, 3 women were misdiagnosed as having breast cancer. COMMENT: researchers did not examine excess risk induced by the radiation from mammography.
