This study of several thousand nursing home residents with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation found that direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs) were associated with a lower mortality compared to warfarin.

Comment: This is not surprising. Although not perfect, DOACs in many situations appear to be clearly superior to warfarin.
