This study found that dietary flavanols was associated with lower blood pressure.

Comment: The effect on average was very mild, reducing the blood pressure only by a couple of points or so. However, on a population wide scale, even a small effect would have major benefits. One good dietary source of flavanols is green tea. Other sources are cocoa, apples, and berries.
