Moderate to vigorous physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day 5 days a week was found to be associated with significantly reduced health care spending.

Comment: The key here seems to be that the exercise intensity was moderate to vigorous. Any activity is good, however, short bursts of intensity appear to be particularly beneficial.
