Statin use after acute myocardial infarction was found to be associated with a lower risk of new onset atrial fibrillation.

Comment: After a heart attack, atrial fibrillation was found to be associated with increased all-cause death. Preventing new onset atrial fibrillation would appear to have significant health benefits.
