Consumption of over 450 IU a day of vitamin D compared to under 300 IU a day was associated with a lower risk of early-onset colorectal cancer in women.

Comment: Of note, although the authors state that the major source of vitamin D is sunlight exposure, they did not control for skin color (which affects response to sun exposure) and did not measure serum vitamin D levels but only used a predictive model. This study is suggestive but certainly not definitive.
