Exercise training that includes bouts of high intensity appears to be superior to low intensity training, in terms of benefit to patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Comment: More and more research is suggesting that interval training, which includes short spurts of high intensity exercise mixed with low intensity exercise, appears to be most beneficial, giving the greatest bang for the buck in terms of time spent exercising.
