Protective factors that reduce the risk of colon cancer include: a) low red meat diet, b) exercise, c) normal body weight. To reduce risk of colorectal cancer, it appears that it helps to increase physical activity and consume a diet rich in fiber, fruits, vegetables, fish, and poultry and low in red and processed meats.
