The burden of untreated dental cavities appears to be shifting from children to adults. There are now 3 peaks in prevalence at 6, 25, and 70 years of age.

Comment: Cavities in the elderly is a significant problem as it can result in people eating a poor diet and thus shortening the lifespan.
