Rivaroxaban was not found to be superior to aspirin in preventing venous thromboembolism after hip or knee arthroplasty in this meta-analysis.

Comment: Authors state that studies to date are generally of low quality and recommend further investigation. Theoretically an anticoagulant (rivaroxaban) should be superior to an antiplatelet agent (aspirin) but the was not found to be true in this study.
