This study of 36 elderly people with mild cognitive impairment found that daily supplementation with omega-3 (810 mg Eicosapentaenoic acid and 4140 mg Docosahexaenoic acid) and omega-6 fatty acids (1800 mg gamma-Linolenic acid and 3150 mg Linoleic acid) along with antioxidants improved functional ability and cognitition.

Comment: Diet and exercise are important throughout life, from preconception up until the end of life. Although we have more and more medications to treat various diseases, a good diet along with regular exercise remain the foundation upon which medical care is built.
